Chip seal driveways
Got a long gravel drive, a ranch road, or a country lane? Chip seal gives you a tough, sealed surface for a lot less than asphalt. Diamond Asphalt builds and resurfaces chip seal drives and private roads across Tarrant County and the surrounding area.
WHY CHIP SEAL
A tough surface without the asphalt price tag.
Lower Cost Than Asphalt
Chip seal costs a fraction of hot-mix paving, which adds up fast on a long drive.
Made for Long Rural Drives
A good fit for ranch roads, farm lanes, and country driveways.
An Upgrade From Gravel
No more washboard ruts, dust clouds, or hauling in new rock every year.
Solid Traction
The stone surface gives tires grip in the rain and holds up to trucks and trailers.
Rustic, Natural Look
The stone color shows through, so it suits farmhouses and country properties.
Resurfaces Old Asphalt
A chip seal over worn asphalt seals out water and gives it a fresh wearing surface.
WHY DIAMOND ASPHALT
A chip seal is only as good as what is under it.
Chip seal is a wearing surface, not a structural fix. If it goes down over ruts and soft spots, it fails right along with them. We grade, shape, and compact the base first, so the surface you pay for lasts. Our name is on the truck, so we do it the way we would at our own place.
Base work first
We fix ruts, soft spots, and drainage before we seal, so the new surface is not riding on problems.
Right stone, right rate
We match the stone size and the amount of liquid asphalt to your drive so the chips lock in and stay put.
Honest quotes, no add-ons
The number on the estimate is the number on the invoice. No surprise line items after the machine is running.
Straight advice
Chip seal is not right for every drive. If hot-mix asphalt is the better choice for your property, we will tell you.
HOW IT WORKS
How we chip seal your drive.
Step 1: Free on-site estimate
We walk the drive, check the base and drainage, measure, and give you a clear written price.
Step 2: Prep the base
We grade, add and compact gravel where needed, and shape the drive so water runs off.
Step 3: Spray, spread, and roll
Hot liquid asphalt goes down, stone chips are spread right on top, and we roll them in tight.
Step 4: Sweep and walk through
Once it sets, we sweep up loose stone, walk the drive with you, and go over care.
CHIP SEAL COST
What affects the cost of chip seal.
Every drive is different, so we price each one after we see it in person. Here is what moves the number up or down, so the quote makes sense when you get it.
Length and width
Chip seal is priced by area, so a long or wide drive costs more in total, but far less per foot than asphalt.
Base condition
Ruts, soft spots, or thin gravel mean grading and new base material before we seal.
Single or double chip seal
A double chip seal adds a second layer of liquid asphalt and stone for a tougher, longer-lasting surface.
Drainage and access
Culverts, ditches, steep grades, or tight access can change the plan and the equipment we bring.

What is chip seal?
Chip seal is a surface made by spraying hot liquid asphalt and covering it with crushed stone chips, then rolling them in. It is the same basic method used on many Texas county and farm roads.
How much does chip seal cost compared to asphalt?
Chip seal typically costs much less per square foot than hot-mix asphalt, which makes it a smart choice for long drives. We give you a free written estimate after we see it in person, and the number on the estimate is the number on the invoice.
How long does chip seal last?
A well-built chip seal typically lasts 7 to 10 years, and a double chip seal can go longer. When it wears, it can be resealed with a fresh layer instead of starting over.
Is chip seal better than gravel?
For most drives, yes. It stops the dust, ruts, and washboarding, and you are done hauling in new rock. It does cost more up front than gravel.
Will there be loose stone after the job?
Some loose chips are normal for the first few weeks while the surface settles in. We sweep when the job is done, and any extra gets pushed aside by traffic.
Should I choose chip seal or asphalt?
Chip seal is the better fit for long rural drives, ranch roads, and tighter budgets. For a shorter driveway at the house where you want a smooth finish for bikes, basketball, and foot traffic, asphalt driveway paving is usually the better call.
Can you chip seal over my old asphalt?
Yes, as long as the asphalt underneath is stable. Chip seal makes a good resurfacing layer over worn asphalt. Potholes and failing spots need asphalt repair and patching first.
